This week is going to feel ‘out of this world’ for the students at Lockport Township High School. Thanks to many people including Student Government and National Honor Society (NHS), LTHS is hosting its annual homecoming dance. For fifteen dollars a ticket, students can dance from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM with music provided by B96’s Boom Entertainment. The dance is planned by NHS, led by faculty member Ms. Nicole Ernest, who said they are “looking most forward to making this an ‘out of this world’ experience for the kids.”

LTHS makes homecoming week memorable by planning things to encourage school spirit all week. Everyday will have a dress up theme consisting of Disney Day, Tourist Day, Crazy Day, Class Color Day, and School Color Day, in that order. On Monday, there will be a poster night to decorate the doors and hallways at both campuses from 3 PM to 6 PM. On Tuesday, there will be a movie night at 7:30 PM at East’s soccer field. Boys’ poms will be debuting at the Powder Puff game at 6 PM on Wednesday at the East football field.

The homecoming court will be announced at the assembly on Thursday. In the running for homecoming queen are Galilea Bustamante, Rylee Carpenter, Destiny Davis, Isabelle Fears, Ally Fischer, Aubrey Friedrich, Maddy Gizewski, Mia Jones, Kait Mellies, Hannah Rimkus, Alexis Rubar, Tess Santoro, Hannah Sass, Peyton Schulz, Claire Stone, Kamile Sulkson, Emma Sweeney and Gracie Voulgaris.

For homecoming king, the nominations are Haleem Ajibola, Gabe Amegatcher, Kyle Bradford, Jack Boetscher, Zac Fox, Connor Herrington, Joe Imburgia, Tegan Koppit, Kevin Mata, John Meyer, Tommy Muhall, Cade Musich, Zach Pytlewski, Ryan Schmidt, Pat Surane, and CJ Wiens.

Whether students are involved in school sports or clubs, there is something for everyone to do to show school spirit. Student Government has gone “all out”, according to board member Peyton Schulz, to make this week a fun and exciting time for the LTHS community.

Be sure to dress up and have fun as you go ‘out of this world’ next week!
