A view of the stage at homecoming

The field house, normally used for the pacer test and basketball during PE, was transformed into an “out of the world” experience at homecoming. Filled with loud music, lasers and dancing, homecoming was a hit for everyone!

Senior Lauren Malito said “it was [her] favorite school dance” that she has been to and that it was “super fun this year.”

NHS sponsors Mrs. Nicole Ernest and Mrs. Sarah Steinke are to thank for that. “Arriving at 5:00 PM to make sure everything was in order and ready to go,” she and Mrs. Steinke prepared two hours before the start of the dance to make sure every student had an incredible time.

To make this year stand out from the rest, lasers were added and an abundance of laser sticks were thrown into the crowd. All the hard work seemed to have paid off considering a record number of 2,451 students attended the dance.

The biggest complaint about the dance, however, was the temperature of the field house. Junior student Dunyah Abulaban said it was “really hot.”

Lauren agreed with Dunyah who said it “was ridiculously hot, which was the only bad part of the dance.”

As always, there are things that students won’t like. This year seems to be the heat, although that didn’t stop anyone from dancing. Overall, homecoming was a huge success filled with laughter and memories that won’t be forgotten!
