Students who were recognized at the Porter Pride breakfast last week

The Porter Pride student recognition breakfast took place last Thursday, October 12th, in the Maroon Room at East Campus.

Staff members from different departments recognized students who embody what it means to be a Porter. Families of students also attended the event and had the opportunity to meet their child’s teacher. The students received a certificate, an exclusive Porter Pride t-shirt, and a flower arrangement. Each teacher gave a speech explaining why they selected the student for Porter Pride.

Mr. Dennis Hicks, East’s principal, and Ms. Kathy  Fields, a guidance counselor, both presented at the event.

The following students were recognized for Porter Pride by their teacher:
1) Marcos Voulgaris – recognized by Mr. Austin Lindley, P.E. Teacher
2) Lauren Jankowski – recognized by Mrs. Stella Musni, Journalism Teacher
3) Kaitlynn Mellies – recognized by Ms. Missy Schmook, World Languages and Cultures Teacher
4) Madeline Wagner – recognized by Mr. Nathaniel Hendrix, Visual and Performing Arts Teacher
5) Jonathan Hanson – recognized by Ms. Roxy Summers, Special Education Teacher
6) Mateusz Zalesko – recognized by Ms. Colleen Gosewisch, Science Teacher
7) Joshua Allen – recognized by Major Stephen Brown, AFJROTC Instructor
8) Jacob Konkowski – recognized by Ms. Arlene Fassola, Math Teacher
