Fear spread across the nation when pipe-bombs were sent to the critics of President Trump. The suspicious packages were intercepted before reaching their intended targets.

The devices were sent to the former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, U.S. Representative Maxine Waters, former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency John Brennan, former United States Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, United State Senator Cory Booker, George Soros, and Robert De Niro.

As reported by CNN, FBI Assistant Director William Sweeney was unable to confirm the origin of the suspicious packages. The bombs were sent to numerous offices and residential areas. An abundance of the packages had the same return address: US Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Florida. A few days after the incident a 56-year-old male, Cesar Sayoc Jr., was arrested in Florida for sending the pipe bombs to notable Democrats.

In defiance of a stressful and chaotic day that almost killed a large amount of people, Trump accused his opponents and the news media. President Trump tweeted: “A very big part of the Anger we see today in our society is caused by the purposely false and inaccurate reporting of the Mainstream Media that I refer to as Fake News. It has gotten so bad and hateful that it is beyond description. Mainstream Media must clean up its act, FAST!”

President Trump claims the news media has set the tone for national politics and then proceeded to make false accusations towards Democrats.
