The Next Step for Harry Potter
December 15, 2020
In 2016, J.K. Rowling released her newest addition to the Harry Potter series: The Cursed Child. Unlike the rest of the books, it’s in the format of a script, and there have been many productions of the play since its release. There have been mixed reactions, but it’s managed to run for over four years and become a popular Broadway show.
The story follows the life of Albus Potter, the youngest child of Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley. Unlike the rest of his family, he is sorted into Slytherin. Along with his friend Scorpius Malfoy, he uses a Time Turner to fix his father’s mistakes.
Recently, the producers of the Broadway show have been working to make it a movie. While the play format is fun, many fans aren’t able to see it. A film adaptation will be easier to access and allow fans to rewatch it as many times as they want.
The original cast of the movies will be returning as the adult versions of the characters they played when they were younger, with many new actors performing as the children of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and Draco Malfoy.
The movie was set to come out late 2020, but the release date is uncertain due to social distancing. It’s possible that it will be delayed even further because of the Fantastic Beasts movies, since we’ve only seen two of the five that are planned. It’s unlikely that it will be pushed back too far, though, since the original actors are sure to be a major attraction that fans will want to see, regardless of how much they liked the play.

I agree with everything this talented writer has t say! She is smart and very well read, though she really, really needs to read Huckleberry Finn and My Antonia.
. . . and clean her room.

HAHA! Love the feedback. Maybe her next article will be on the benefits of reading classic literature!
