The news of the divorce between actress Sophie Turner and musician Joe Jonas has been taking the internet by storm. Their rather unexpected and messy separation and later divorce has been made a spectacle in the media. Here is the timeline of the story that has been capturing so many feeds as of late.
All seemed well on social media for the couple in August. There were numerous posts of them celebrating Joe’s birthday and Sophie attending the Jonas Brothers Tour. But when September rolled around, things went downhill very quickly. Rumors came out Labor Day weekend when both Turner and Jonas were spotted without their wedding rings. Not long after, information that Jonas had contacted divorce which took the internet by storm. A couple days later Joe Jonas had filed for divorce. On a joint instagram post, the former couple announced that they have “amicably decided to end their marriage.” There was speculation that the reason for divorce was that for the past six months while on tour, Jonas has had sole responsibility for their two daughters.
Things only got messier for the soon-to-be divorced couple as Turner sued Jonas for supposedly keeping their passports from them, so they could not come see her in England. After the short public battle between the two, it was decided that it would be best for their children to remain in New York City for the time being. New York City has been the place of many Sophie Turner sightings over the past weeks as she has befriended someone from Joe Jonas’s past, Taylor Swift. Since the news of divorce, Turner and Swift have been spotted at restaurants, events, and NFL games together. Their newer friendship has sparked much interest into what really happened to lead to such support from Joe Jonas’ ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
Media speculation and accounts from close sources are all the “fact” that the public has to go on for the end of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s four year marriage. Whatever did happen in the last six months, it has been plastered all over the Sixth Page and shocked the media all over the world.
