On Sunday, Mar 10, 2024 the Lockport Varsity and Junior Varsity girls figure skating teams participated for team titles at the IHSS state finals at Crystal Ice House in Crystal Lake. Team title scores were calculated by cumulative points between three different competitions. The varsity figure skating team which includes Lilian McCarthy, Gabriela Drazek, and Paulina Drazek successfully placed 1st place, scoring 108 points, beating their competitors by 33 points! The JV also had a successful day placing 2nd overall. Their roster includes six different girls. Next year, these talented girls hope to achieve back-to-back state titles and secure JV’s first IHSS title! Yet again, LTHS athletics has been garnering a name for themselves after a year full of achievements.
