Rising Stars On Ice: Lockport’s Figure-Skating

Lockport’s Figure Skating team took on sectionals at Robert Crown Ice Arena for their last competition of the 2024 season. The JV team placed 4th in beginner team maneuvers, while varsity placed in gold with a perfect score in team maneuvers as well as winning the team spirit award for the intermediate division.

Overall for teams:

Varsity: 1st Place-Lilian McCarthy, Gabriela Drazek, Paulina Drazek, and Addison Galloy

Junior Varsity: 4th Place-Gabriella Salerno, Patrycja Mrowca, Michelle Stasik, Emma Tamulis, Emilie Knaack, Weronika Rafacz

Solos:

Paulina Drazek: 2nd place in Intermediate Women’s Short Program-Paulina performed to “Waka Waka”

Gabriela Drazek: 5th place in Excel Novice Women’s Freeskate-Gabriela performed to “Show Me How You Burlesque”

Lilian McCarthy: 1st place in Bronze Solo Dance and 1st place in Excel Novice Women’s Freeskate-Lilian performed to “Derniére Danse”

Even though the competitive season has come to an end, there is still an opportunity to go and watch the skaters perform on June 11th for their Summer Ice Show as well as the 2024 Senior Night. More information can be found on their instagram page @lockport_fs.
