Last Friday, the Lockport Girls’ Volleyball team played their opening match against Lyons Township. The team, led by returning seniors and some promising young players, faced a tough opponent. Jenna Kolosta led the seniors with six kills and two blocks, yet the majority of the starting roster was full of young guns who looked to make a statement in their first varsity season. Two superstars who stood out were sophomore Natalie Bochantin with 10 assists, and sophomore Malley Green with 7 assists. The game alone was with the teams volleying back and forth. Lockport put up a good fight but fell short with a first-match score of 17-22 and a second-match score of 25-25. The girls look to bounce back next game against Plainfield North.
