Welcome to our second installment of Lockport Food Reviews, where we review local restaurants in the Lockport area.
Recently, our series underwent a name change, so from now on, Lockport Food Reviews will be known as “Let’s Dish!” For our inaugural review under our new name, we decided to visit The Godfather’s Eatery. Just as our previous review at Stagecoach Eatery & Saloon, Godfather’s had a very unique atmosphere unlike that of any other restaurant. It was reformed from a gas station into a “godfather”, or Italian mafia-like style. Regarding this theme, it is a family owned restaurant and they wish to provide the people with a fresh Italian experience. The three of us ordered different dishes, and here is what each of us thought:
Corey Rak:
I ordered the pepperoni pizza and it was spectacular. The service there was great; they said it would be 30 minutes but it only took 15! The pizza was around 25 dollars and was big enough for three people. The pizza was a thin crust style, with excellent flavor in the seasoning, cheese and sauce. Additionally, they offer single slices and bigger sizes. Overall, my experience at this restaurant was amazing and I would recommend it to anybody in the area.
Jack LoPresti:
I ordered the American sub sandwich. The service time was excellent; all of the food, including the pizza, was out within 15 minutes. My sandwich was $12.04 for a 12-inch sub. The portions for the price were fair and the food was very filling. The sandwich was well-dressed with their sauce which allowed for a very flavorful mix of flavors when mixed with the ham, turkey, roast beef & American cheese. Over time the flavor does become overwhelming so I do recommend a drink when having this as some sort of palate-cleansing drink to make the experience more enjoyable. After consideration, my rating is 7.5/10.
Jackson Maloney:
I ordered the Spaghetti with meatballs, a classic dish at any Italian restaurant. Upon entering, we walked up to the counter to place our orders, and then we were able to seat ourselves. We were told to expect a wait time of around thirty minutes, but our food ended up arriving in half the time. My dish cost $11.99, and the portions were large considering the affordable price. The pasta was very enjoyable. The sauce was very fresh and the meatballs were good as well. I would argue that there could have been slightly less sauce. The bread on the side wasn’t overly flavorful, but added a nice contrast in texture for the meal. I was a big fan of The Godfather’s Eatery, and I believe that it would be difficult to find a restaurant just like this one. I would suggest Godfather’s to anybody living in the Lockport area, and I would give my experience an overall rating of 8/10.
