On Friday, November 24 the Porter basketball program officially kicked off its 2024-2025 basketball season with Maroon Madness, where each individual team faced off against each other in two 10 minute halves. The JV and Freshman girls kicked the night off at 5:30 in the main gym and field house. The freshman White team just beat out their opponents 13-10 to win the scrimmage.

Likewise, the JV White team also beat the Maroon team in a higher point game of 21-17. To end the night, the Varsity girls team brought the energy with Junior Laura Arstikaitis scoring the first basket of the game and Junior Addison Way with an impressive steal at the 7:53 mark of the first half with the Maroon girls winning 19-14.

Their display of offense and defense shows promise for the start of their season. The girls will have their first home game against Wheaton North Tuesday, November 19 to officially set the tone for the season.
