On December 17, Lockport had its annual Choir Holiday Concert which featured various extracurricular and curricular choirs listed below:
- Concert Choir
- Bel Canto
- Freshman Choir
- Encore
- Chamber Choir
- Minstrels
- Trouveres
- Troubadours
- The Madrigal Court
The choirs started off the concert with an energetic performance of “Masters in this Hall” which featured all of the choirs collectively. Subsequently after, each curricular choir performed individual holiday choral classics such as “The First Noel”.
As a quick change of pace, the extracurricular Madrigal choirs performed four songs, followed by the infamous “Candlelight Carol” which is sung at the end of every Madrigal Dinner at LTHS. (The Madrigal Dinner is a very popular concert at Lockport, being sold out every year).
To end the concert, holiday classics such as “Run Rudolph Run,” “Jingle Bells,” and “Angels We Have Heard On High” were sung by individual choirs. The final piece was LTHS Choirs’ annual performance of “Noel” where all of the choirs sing collectively. Audience members such as alumni and frequent parents are also invited to sing the closing song.
At LTHS, the choral department has four energetic performances per year. Since the concerts are energetic and fun, there are regularly large audiences attending. Although two of those performances have already happened, there is still an opportunity to attend two concerts in the second semester.
