As the CWC teams go into the 5th week of their basketball season, all teams were ready to bring the energy with just a couple weeks left until the playoffs starting February 5.
The first game of the night featured Alim Useini’s team and Kaden Makhlouf’s team. In the first half, both teams kept the score relatively close; however, that all changed in the second half when Carter Kelso made bucket after bucket to help his team win in a blowout 58-32.
The second game of the night had Bryce Turner’s team beating Aiden Morgan’s team 40-47. At the end of the first half, Bryce’s team was up by a considerable amount prompting Aiden’s team to work harder, yet in the end they came up short. An important role in Bryce’s win along with his team was the fact that Alex Thomas was able to finally make some shots.
Going into the third game, the closest of the night, we saw Yianni Theoharis’s Team just beat out Carson Norton’s Team 41-36. The game remained close up to the very end as both teams fighted for the win. In the end, Yianni’s team was able to capitalize on more points giving them the win. The last game of the night had Izeyah Pruitt’s team beating out Teddy Ponterio’s team 50-28, turning the game into the most entertaining of them all due to half court shots and 3s.
After week 5, Izeyah Pruitt’s team leads the standings with a 5-0 record as they go into week 6. With more than half the season over, it leaves plenty of time to experience the exciting atmosphere, unpredictable action, and quality entertainment.
