Valentine’s Day is a fun way to show appreciation for family, friends and loved ones. Although writing a card and giving chocolates and flowers is sweet, it’s very overused and overrated. If you are looking to try something a little different, and currently trending, throw a Galentine’s party!

A Galentine’s party is an event where you bring together your girl friends and celebrate Valentine’s Day. Although this may seem simple, these events are thoroughly planned down to the last detail. 

First, a guest list is obviously a necessity, but this is the easiest part. Once all of your friends are able to come, you can plan aesthetic matching outfits for everyone. The colors pink or red must be included, and typically either cute pajamas or nice jeans are worn. 

Once you figure out who is coming, you will be able to plan the most important part: the food. Galentine’s food is not only a meal, it is a combination of themed snacks, plates, and boards. It is typically easy-to-eat finger food, and almost always is either in the shape of a heart or colored pink. Some examples would include heart shaped pizzas, chocolate covered strawberries, and a charcuterie board. These seemingly random snacks thrown together are the perfect embodiment of a ‘girl dinner’. 

To continue with the theme, Galentine’s parties always must have a festive drink to pair with the food. There are plenty of recipes online that combine sweet syrups with carbonated sodas to make the perfect treat for your guests. 

Finally, in order to make sure your guests don’t get bored, you must plan fun activities! Some creative crafts would be candle wax painting, flower bouquet arranging, and scrapbook making. All of these would be able to keep your guests entertained, and leave them with a memento that they could keep forever. 

The memories created and bonds strengthened will help strengthen valuable friendships. Although it may sound like a laborious process, a Galentine’s party will surely be an unforgettable experience for you and your friends, and should be a way that everyone celebrates this special day.
