This past weekend, the Lockport Swim and Dive Team competed at the IHSA State Finals in Westmont.
On the first day, Feb. 28, 2025, all the state qualifying athletes competed in the preliminary rounds before advancing to the finals. The divers started in the morning which featured Juniors Andrew Giorgetti and Logan Fields.

After the preliminary round where each diver dove six times, the top 20 divers advanced to the semi-finals. From Lockport, Andrew Giorgetti advanced into the semi finals placing 11th in the first round with a score of 224.80.
Unfortunately, Logan Fields did not advance after placing 34th with a score of 198.35. Going into the semi-finals, Giorgetti needed to be in the top sixteen to advance to the finals which he achieved after three more dives finishing in 12th with a score of 329.80.
As the day progressed, the swimming preliminaries began in the afternoon with Lockport swimmers competing in 6 events including: the 200 yard free, 50 yard free, 100 yard free, 200 free relay, 100 yard breaststroke, and the 400 yard relay. While these swimmers competed valiantly none of them were able to qualify for the finals.
Going into the second day, Sat. March 1, 2025, Giorgetti represented Lockport in the finals placing 14th with a score of 439.30.
