2024 was a huge year for music. With the rise of artists Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter, audiences were well fed in the department of great pop music. 2025 has already found a breakout artist in Tate McRae, but it is only April so there is still more to come! Here I will be highlighting three artists who I think will be joining her in role of 2025’s new mainstream artists:
Alessi Rose
If you are attending Tate McRae’s Miss Possessive Tour you may catch this indie pop newcomer. Alessi Rose is from the UK and started releasing music in 2023 with her debut single “Say Ur Mine.” She produced the track herself using Logic Pro X and her old Mac computer. Rose’s music is a blend of the lyricism of Taylor Swift and the production of Gracie Abrams. While she does not currently have an album out, she does have two EPs, “Rumination as Ritual” and “For Your Validation”, which are phenomenal projects.

Conan Gray
You may know Gray from the viral 2020 ballad “Heather.” However, the rest of his catalog is 100% worth checking out.
He started his career as a teenager on YouTube creating vlog style content which gained him a decent following. In 2018, Gray released his EP “Sunset Season” which is relatively more upbeat compared to his later releases. In 2020, he released his debut album “Kid Krow.” a coming of age album that describes his life as a teenager dealing with common issues amongst teens.
Since then, he has released two albums: “Superache” and “Found Heaven.” His music can be best described as one word devastating. He often writes based off of his own childhood which is best seen in various songs but is best seen in “Family Line” Overall, Gray may be decently well known in the current music space but if you listen to his entire catalog, you will begin to wonder why he is not more popular.

Maisie Peters
If you attended the international dates for Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, you may have been introduced to Maisie Peters.
Peters began her career independently releasing two singles: “Place We Made” and “Birthday.” In 2018, she released two EPs under Atlantic Records as well as providing the soundtrack for the second series for the british comedy show “Trying.” In 2021, Peters released her debut album “You Signed Up For This” under Gingerbread Records. This project is a breakup record that stands out for its impeccable lyrics. In 2023, Peter released her second album “The Good Witch” the album is a more grown up version of “You Signed Up For This” giving the audience some of her best songs. The best comparison that can be given for Peters’ music is Lily Allen, they both have a more nasally voice that still sounds pretty and a sarcastic style of writing.
