On Monday, August 18, 2025, the Lockport Board of Education swore in four new student board members for the 2025-2026 school year. Serving as regular student board members are Ryan Gleason and James Wyatt, who will attend the monthly board meetings. Abigail Carroll will serve as the Finance and Facilities student member, and Evelyn Siedlarczyk will serve as the Curriculum Committee student member. All new student board members are excited to bring a student perspective and have meaningful conversations related to student life.

During the meeting, Ryan and James gave their first student report, which consisted of sharing with the board takeaways from the teacher institute on August 14, along with advice to teachers for the new phone policy. Additionally, they shared how students reacted to the phone policy on the first day of school.
“I am so excited to serve on the school board this year as the student board member in the finance and facilities committee. This is a great opportunity for me and my fellow board members to make a difference in the school community,” stated Abigail Carroll about her new position, highlighting what all the board members are feeling. The next board of education meeting will be on September 15, 2025.
