On September 15 2025, singer songwriter Conan Gray played at Credit Union 1 Amphitheater for the third stop of his Wishbone Pajama Show Tour. It’s safe to say it was a night of crying that built community among the crowd. As someone who attended the show, here is what the experience of The Wishbone Pajama Show was all about.
Before Gray went on, the crowd was treated to the wonderful opener, Hemlocke Springs. She is a pop musician whose music is similar to that of Chappell Roan and Magdalena Bay. Her fun and lively stage presence, along with a Lallalopsy inspired outfit, made her set a great kick off for the concert while also gaining her many fans in the process.

45 minutes after Hemlocke Springs completed her set, Conan Gray finally hit the stage. He started the show riding a bicycle and retrieving his mic from a mailbox. From here, began singing “My World” from his most recent album “Wishbone,” which had the audience jumping out of their seats. Once the song finished he segwayed into the infectious “Never Ending Song” which continued the energy from the previous song, while allowing Gray to showcase his insane vocal range.

Gray has the stage presence of a popstar but remains down to earth with fans, making him relatable as he speaks about difficulties in his life. This experience of the show feels like you’re hanging out with one of your best friends while they are on stage rather than a celebrity.

Soon after, Gray emerged from a sailboat. We arrive at possibly one of the most exciting moments of the show: the surprise song. It is here when two song choices are put on the screen. From here, Gray chooses an audience member to break a wishbone with him; Whoever gets the long end of the stick gets to pick the song.
At the show, the decision was between “Fight Or Flight” or “Sunset Tower.” While Gray got the long end of the stick, he allowed the fan to pick as it was her birthday. She ended up choosing “Sunset Tower.” This emphasizes how much Gray cares about his fans, as earlier on in the show he stated, “If you ever feel like you’re not loved, know that you are loved by me and everyone else here,” before performing the song “Family Line.” Furthermore, this highlighted that not only is Gray extremely talented, he is a very kind human being.
Later, Gray performed his more popular songs such as “Maniac” and “Vodka Cranberry.” He proceeded to tell the audience that “Vodka Cranberry” was his last song, which nobody in the crowd believed. Around five minutes later, Gray performed an encore of “Memories” and “Caramel.” Ending the night off perfectly, leaving behind incredible memories that the audience will never forget.
Seeing Conan Gray’s growth as an artist has been incredible to witness. Seeing him go from singing in his bedroom to selling out iconic venues has been a journey worth following.
