Be Safe This Fall

College isn’t all rainbows and sunshine, you need to be careful. Here are some tips to remember on your way to college life.

  1. Walk in a group at night.
    1. It doesn’t matter if you’re walking to your dorm alone or walking to your car, stay alert!
  2. Keep a charged cellphone.
    1. You can never be too sure when you might need to call for help, and a phone with 3% battery won’t help anyone.
  3. Pepper Spray is gender-neutral.
    1. Guys, it’s pepper spray it won’t hurt your man card when it saves your life. (Your attacker won’t judge you if it’s pink)
  4. Always lock yourself into your dorm at night.
    1. This isn’t the movies! Lock your doors to prevent strangers or creeps from coming in your room at night.
  5. Never let anyone into your dorm that you don’t know.
    1. Again this isn’t the movies, don’t just let anyone in your dorm. Residents have a key for a reason! You wouldn’t let a complete stranger into your house so don’t let them into your dorm.
  6. Never stay at a party alone when your friends leave
    1. Guys-yes, things can happen to you when you’re alone.
    2. Girls-stay, alert and with friends.
