Freshman girls volleyball continues its outstanding season
October 4, 2017
Family, Fortitude, Ferocity, Fearless, and Fun are the five pillars that Coach Zeimetz, the freshman girls’ volleyball coach, lives by. Not only is he preparing his volleyball players for their next big milestone in their volleyball careers, he is also making them a better teammate.
A major key in being a successful volleyball player is to maintain good sportsmanship. Coach Zeimetz recognizes good sportsmanship as how someone acts when no one else is looking and pushing oneself to the highest extent even though no one may be watching.
Nadia Goich, the A team’s middle, mentioned that when the game gets close she always has an open mind and never gives up. Volleyball teams have to know how to work as a team and be a “supPORTER.”
Ellie Fast, the B team’s setter, explains how everyone on her volleyball team is like a second family to her. Both freshmen agree that the highlight of their volleyball season has been making new friends, learning new techniques from fantastic coaches, and playing the sport that they love.
The team won the Lincoln-Way West tournament while playing against quality teams. Since September 21st, the team’s record is 9-2. The girls are looking forward to an amazing volleyball season.
