Storms Across the Midwest

Written by Samantha Bradley, Features Editor

Friday evening, March 31st, a line of storms crossed most of the Midwest. Over fifty tornadoes were produced, and high winds caused damage to areas not even affected by tornadoes. The death count from the storm has risen to thirty, and countless homes and businesses were damaged. Fourteen deaths took place in Tennessee, where an EF-2 tornado raged for thirty-eight miles and was half a mile wide. Twelve tornadoes (Level EF-0 and EF-1) touched down in southern Wisconsin. Thankfully, there were no fatalities in these storms. Three deaths took place as a result of an EF-3 tornado in Indiana, where a modular home was picked up and thrown back to the ground two-hundred yards away. President Biden has released funds to affected areas to help rebuild and relief.
