LTHS Attends Music for All
April 5, 2023
LTHS’s Wind Symphony traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana during spring break for the national festival, Music For All. High school and middle school bands from all over the United States came together to make beautiful music and celebrate their love for the arts together. It was a great experience to meet new people and learn from established musicians.
The Wind Symphony performed five pieces of music which were aired live around the world.

Their performance starts at 7:30:09.
That night all of the students attending the festival went to a “student social” and were still amazed that there were so many people from all around America. Many students were from Texas, some from Arizona and Florida. It was awesome to meet all of these people and start to gain connections.
This festival also hosts the Honor Band of America and Jazz Band of America. Auditions were submitted in October, and about 72 students were selected to be in the Honor Band, two coming from LTHS. The farthest traveler was from Hawaii and he played bass trombone.
I was one of the students in this National Honor band, as was Jacob Rodeghero. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had in my musical career. The conductor for our band was Doctor Mallory Thompson from Northwestern University, and everything she said was like money. She helped us become higher level musicians and think more critically about the things we played. Overall it was an amazing opportunity, and I can’t wait to audition again next year.
