LTHS Kicks Off Their Football Season with Maroon & White Night

Lockport has officially kicked off its 2024 football season. Maroon and White Night is Lockport’s annual kickoff to our football season. The “White team” plays offense and the “Maroon team” plays defense. Every grade level (Freshman, JV, and Varsity) gets to play against their teammates and show off the skills they have for this season. Every level showed skill through touchdowns, blocks, and plays. Head Coach George Czart states, “The Maroon and White night scrimmage went well with all players being able to show that they are ready and excited about our season opener against Plainfield North. All members have worked hard to be able to display their particular talents on the field and we look forward to the competition we will be up against this season.” Community members, students and families all attended to show their support. Now that the scrimmage is done, Lockport is ready to go all the way!

Ava is a senior at Lockport, and this is her third year in Porter Press. She is the Social Media Manager and also likes to write for the sports section. Ava is involved in Student Government and is trying Orchesis this year. Outside of school, Ava loves hanging with her friends, running a middle school youth group and reading.

Ian Allen, Features Editor

Ian is a junior at Lockport. This is his first year in Porter Press and first year as a section editor. He is involved in swim, water polo, and activities such as best buddies. Outside of school, Ian does club swim and enjoys working, listening to music, and shopping with friends.
