This week officially marks the road to state with the Varsity and JV teams competing at the SWSC Blue Division Championship at Lincoln Way East on Friday, January 24. This will officially end the JV season; however, Varsity has the potential to advance to the state sectionals February 1, then to state February 7-8. These athletes know what it takes to reach the highest level and have already shown it through their skill, hard work, and tenacity.

How did last year’s state finish of third place push the team even harder this competition season and as you begin the road to state again?
Junior Kennedi Bensfield responded “We were proud to podium last year as state in one of the toughest divisions. It made us more driven to push our limits and reach for our ultimate goal of a state championship. We got amazing new talent and know this team, this year has what it takes to make it happen. We just need to push through these final weeks and do what we do best!”
