On February 27 and 28th, the Orchesis Dance team put on a performance at LTHS’ East Auditorium. The dances performed spanned many genres: ballet, lyrical, modern, jazz, hip-hop, tap, and ethnic. The dancers have been rehearsing for about four months to put the show together.

In order to celebrate the occasion, the Orchesis board — comprised of President Amanda Pollock (senior), Vice President Lexi Quemeneur (senior), Secretary Josh Wolf (senior), and Show Chairperson Sarah Evans (junior)helped decorate the performers’ lockers the week of the show and put together tri-folds with pictures of all the performers in their respective graduating classes.

The talent of each of the performers is undeniable. The audience cheered for their friends as they took the stage. Quemeneur described the cheers as “encouraging”, saying that it “made her feel happy to know that the audience was entertained by her performance”. She recalls a moment in the show where her and Pollock do a series of flips off of each other. When the audience applauded their feat, she felt a beam of pride.

Congratulations to all the members of Lockport’s Orchesis team on their show!
