On Tuesday, April 12, the Varsity Boys Water Polo team celebrated senior night along with a 7-6 win against Bradley High School.
The first period of the game, Lockport connected passes along with catching the defenders off guard and getting multiple fast breaks. Bradley struggled to keep up with Lockport’s energetic start leading to Lockport being up 4-1. As the second period began, Lockport still continued to work well; however, Bradley found their spark and began to catch up. Going into half time it was a 5-5 tie between the two teams shaping up for an intense match up. Heading into the 3rd period, both teams came ready to fight with multiple shots on goal that were ultimately blocked by the goalies. Fortunately, Lockport was able to score another goal giving them a slight edge over Bradley, 6-5. It all came down to the 4th period, the battle to decide who would win. Bradley shortly into the period tied up the game, increasing the tension. Fans were on the edge of their seats waiting to see who would come out on top. In the last few minutes, the mighty Porters were able to score a goal and hold off Bradley’s offense, ending the game 7-6 and a Victory!
Overall, the Lockport Boys Water Polo season has shown good progress, these young men continue to work hard everyday at practice or in games to improve their team. We would also like to celebrate seniors Christian Sokol, Quinn Stanislawski, and Jake Balitewicz for their time at Lockport and are hopeful for what the future holds for them.
