Incredibly, a previous article written about expired food, inflation of prices, and lack of options for later lunches in the LTHS cafeteria has caught the attention of Quest Food Management Services, the district’s main food service provider.
Quest CEO Nick Saccaro has directly responded to these concerns, personally stating that “the issues described do not reflect Quest’s standards or values. No student should ever question the quality of their meal or worry about food availability during later lunch periods.”
Not only does Quest show their empathy, but they also emphasize that immediate action has been taken to combat these issues, including improved production planning, stricter managing of date codes, and enhanced inventory rotation, all of which help ensure the quality and availability of lunches.
“As soon as we learned of these concerns, we began a full review of our food safety and quality controls at both campuses,” Saccaro writes. “We are also reinforcing staff training and communication to prevent issues from happening again.”
Quest further recognizes LTHS students for not only coming forward with concerns but also positive feedback they have received during recent Food Committee meetings. Students’ appreciation for the variety and quality of food, as well as the popular panini station was also acknowledged.
“Suggestions for more cultural dishes, refresher drinks, and expanded grab and go choices are already informing upcoming updates,” Saccaro reports, showing Quest’s attentiveness to student opinions and persistence to improving the cafeteria food.
Quest also addresses concerns about inflated prices, bringing attention to the fact that from August to October of 2025, paid meal revenue increased by about 2.4% and reduced-priced meals increased 356% over the last year. This shows more students being able to access meals at school.
“Quest’s commitment to safety, quality, and responsiveness remains firm,” Saccaro insists, “and we appreciate the feedback from LTHS students as we continue this work.”
Students across LTHS greatly appreciate this acknowledgement from Quest. Their gratitude, integrity, and attentiveness is not overlooked. Seeing concerns being taken seriously and addressed promptly has reinforced the idea that student voices matter and can lead to meaningful change within their school community.
